This album captures the Cramps gig at Club 57 at Irving Plaza, in New York City, on 18 August 1979, in its entirety.

This show is frequently cited as the best example of the bands raw garage-punk and rockabilly-punk sound from this era, taking place just before the release of their debut album, Songs the Lord Taught Us.
