  • Tindersticks are an English alternative rock-pop band formed by singer Stuart A. Staples in 1991. Early in their career, they recorded several high-profile albums that didn't really become popular until years after their original release. One of these is the slightly light but still deeply dark curtains, whose songs turn out to be intimidating and destructive gems. The contents to be processed are thereby embedded by Stuart & Co in melancholic melodies and covered with equally melancholic vocals.
The highlights of Curtains certainly include the somewhat livelier singles Rented Rooms and Bathtime as well as the song highlights Let's Pretend, (Tonight) Are You Trying To Fall In Love Again? and the beautiful duet with Anne Magnuson, Buried Bones.
Tindersticks have released a total of 11 studio albums to date. The very authentic lyrics of the songs were written by Stuart A. Staples and are based on his own life experiences or those of his immediate environment.
