The tracks on Joli Mai are bubbling with life, freeform arrangements of colorful analog synths and bass guitar licks are accented with wooden drums and soulful vocal snippets in vintage Daphni tradition. While most of the record is uplifting, Xing Tian and Vulture veer out towards a sinister edge.
