Lynyrd Skynyrd (pronounced 'Lh-'nrd 'Skin-'nrd) is the 1973 debut album of the American rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd. Some of the songs on the album are still among the band's most famous: "Gimme Three Steps", "Simple Man", "Tuesday's Gone" and "Free Bird", the last of which helped the band to national fame. The album was awarded gold on 18 December 1974 and double platinum by the RIAA on 21 July 1987. The album reached its highest chart position in 1975 with 27 on the Billboard 200.
