While none of the songs from The Call's album Reconciled gained significant popularity on the mainstream charts, the powerful "I Still Believe" and upbeat "Everywhere I Go" (featuring backup vocals by Jim Kerr and Peter Gabriel) received considerable airplay on alternative and college radio stations. These hits helped elevate the band's status and showcase their passionate, U2-inspired sound. The lyrics are socially conscious and can be interpreted with spiritual meaning, but they also have a broad appeal and only occasionally become too heavy-handed ("Blood Red (America)"). Notable guest musician Robbie Robertson lends his guitar skills to the energetic track "The Morning," which shares a similar vibe to the band's later hit "Let the Day Begin." Some of the keyboard sounds may feel dated, but overall, Reconciled remains a captivating and influential example of '80s "big music."
