In the sixteen years it took for bassist Bill Wyman to issue a follow up to his 1982 self-titled release, a lot had happened, most notably his resignation from one of the greatest all-time rock bands, the Rolling Stones. For Wyman's 1998 release, STRUTTIN' OUR STUFF, this ex-Stone recruits quite an impressive supporting cast of players (dubbed 'The Rhythm Kings'), including Peter Frampton, Eric Clapton, Albert Lee, and Georgie Fame.
For a man with such a pedigree, Wyman keeps a surprisingly low profile on STRUTTIN'. The majority of the tracks are covers, including Creedence Clearwater Revival's "Green River," the blues rock standard "Tobacco Road," and an obscure original by Jagger-Richards, "Melody." STRUTTIN' OUR STUFF is definitely Wyman's best solo release yet.
