Jennifer Finch departed from L7 after releasing The Beauty Process: Triple Platinum, which properly concludes an era for the band. While still maintaining their underground rocker attitude, L7 transitions towards a heavier, more biker-influenced sound with each new record. The Beauty Process packs a powerful punch, while also showcasing plenty of hooks, although they are not used for mainstream appeal like on Bricks are Heavy. This album will satisfy long-time fans and those who also appreciate bands like Motorhead and AC/DC. In other words, it's a fantastic hard rock record, but it may spark a sense of nostalgia in fans who remember when L7 were seen as trailblazers, rather than just carrying on the torch.
