Molly Burch made her music debut in 2017 with "Please Be Mine," a ten-track tribute to unreciprocated love, crafted after her studies in Jazz Vocal Performance in Asheville, NC. Critics lauded her smoky, effortless vocals and heartfelt lyrics. Following a year of touring across North America, Europe, and the UK with acts like Ought, Alex Cameron, Grizzly Bear, and Courtney Barnett, Burch returned to Texas seeking a break. Feeling a lack of inspiration and with plenty of time to spare, she began a fresh start, collaborating with her bandmate and boyfriend, Dailey Toliver, who provided guitar parts and orchestration ideas, leading to the creation of "First Flower." This album explores Burch's deepest emotions, including fractured friendships, family ties, and intense anxiety.
