FRED JACKSON Hootin' 'N Tootin' (Blue Note Tone Poet Series 2026 limited edition 7-track LP pressed on 180-gram black vinyl. Originally recorded in 1962, Hootin' 'N Tootin' was tenor saxophonist Fred Jackson's sole album as a leader for Blue Note. Jackson had already appeared on label sessions by Baby Face Willette and would later feature on Big John Patton titles, but this set places him at the centre of a compact 4-piece line-up with guitarist Willie Jones, drummerWilbert Hogan and organist Earl Van Dyke, later of Motown's Funk Brothers. This Blue Note Tone Poet edition is presented in stereo, mastered by Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio from the original master tape, plated and pressed at RTI on 180-gram vinyl, and housed in a deluxe gatefold tip-on jacket picture sleeve with original cover artwork and hype sticker, factory sealed.
