Across five albums, the set moves from Wham!, Tears For Fears and Simple Minds through Whitney Houston, Bon Jovi and Europe, then on to The Cure, New Order, Pet Shop Boys, Roxette, Soul II Soul and Gloria Estefan, mapping the mainstream and crossover pop landscape of the second half of the decade in considerable detail. Rather than functioning as a highlights summary, this set works as a companion archive to the wider Yearbook series, with each year sequenced as its own standalone LP.
