Mutoid Man return with their first new album in six years,Mutants. On their third full-length, the power trio featuring vocalist/guitarist Stephen Brodsky (Cave In) and drummer Ben Koller (Converge) are joined by new bassist Jeff Matz (High On Fire). WithMutants, Mutoid Man continue to bask in their love of frantic, ferocious, no-frills metal; yielding an album of ridiculously savage hooks and next-level dexterity. The album was once again produced by longtime collaborator Kurt Ballou at his God City Studios and features contributions from Aaron Turner (Old Man Gloom, SUMAC) and Nate Newton (Converge, Cave In).

Since their inception, Mutoid Man have pushed metals villainous pageantry to vaudevillian levels. Initially meant to be an exercise in flexing the creative chops outside of the members other projects, Mutoid Mans debut album Bleeder (2015) and critically acclaimed sophomore album War Moans (2017) have cemented the band as an imposing force regardless of their pedigree. Their live shows have been exercises in showmanship, with the requisite headbanger gymnastics morphing into Van Halen-esque panache and hardcore-basement-show prankery which is why they are such an incredible fit to also serve as the House band forTwo Minutes To Late Nightas well as each member performing on many of their star-studded Bedroom Cover sessions.
